United States National Park Service Special Collection at the AMCC

The AMCC is a repository for United States National Park Service (NPS) Special Collection for tissue samples of any and all animal organisms collected in units of the National Park System.

To search for specimens in the NPS Special Collection, go to the AMCC database and select "National Park Service" from the "dept/partner" (department/partner) pull-down menu.

To deposit NPS specimens in the NPS Special Collection, researchers can request a Field Collection Kit and/or a Dry Shipper. Field Collection Kits consist of AMCC barcode-labeled vials and boxes. Barcode-labeled vials are associated with an electronic data template sent by the AMCC Collections Manager and should be returned via email prior to shipment of samples to AMCC. Tissue samples should be shipped directly to the AMCC either via dry shipper provided by AMCC or frozen on dry ice provided by the collector. Please coordinate with AMCC Collections Manager Svetlana Katanova prior to sample shipment.
