The Station makes an ideal location for faculty/staff retreats, reunions, weddings, conferences, and other various groups. Conservation organizations, university departmental retreats, and a variety of other organizations have enjoyed our hospitality in the past.

Group organizers must coordinate reservations and room assignments, and handle all payments. Feel free to contact our Group Coordinator at [email protected] to make arrangements for your visit, or call the office at 520-558-2396.

Individuals are housed in our dorm rooms or may request private accommodations (Triplexes), if available. All group housing rates include three meals each day, and early, cold breakfast and sack lunches may be provided with advance notice. If participants in your group would like coffee before breakfast you may arrange this in advance, as well. Coffee will be available on the dining porch early in the morning, as the dining room is not open until breakfast. Coffee break refreshments and snacks can be arranged (for an additional fee) at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m., or both times. Smoking is prohibited in all buildings on station grounds.

Your participants should be aware telephone service to the Station is limited to use of a calling card (sold in the Main Office or Nature Shop) or wifi calling. Additionally, they may want to arrange to have the person call them back (520-558-2381) to save minutes on the card. Guests cannot be reached through the main Station number (520-558-2396), except in real emergencies.

Internet: The labs are wired for ADSL, and wireless is available throughout the station. Participants are welcome to bring their laptop or use our guest-computer in the dining hall porch, as email is the best form of communication at the SWRS.

In order to welcome and briefly introduce the Station to your participants we ask that you arrive no later than 4:00 p.m. We are happy to provide a brief introductory talk to the group about the Southwestern Research Station, if you so desire and advance notice is given.

For tour groups wishing to use the station, please visit our Tours page.
