The Last Great Prize
Earth with Antarctica and the South Pole highlighted and the British and Norwegian flags

To the South Pole!

Antarctica was the last continent to be explored. It was an ice-covered world at the bottom of the Earth. Brave adventurers were drawn to this dangerous and remote place.

Who Will Win?

In 1909, explorers reached the North Pole for the first time. So the eyes of the world turned to Antarctica. Who will be the first at the South Pole? In 1910, two teams, one British and one Norwegian, set off on a daring race for this prize.
