After a hard day’s work, we all settle in for a typical night in the Gobi Desert.

6 p.m.
Some folks gather and chop wood, others prepare and cook the food. Sometimes the Mongolian team and the American team will eat different meals because of different taste preferences. The Mongolian dinner often consists of boiled mutton. This meat comes from sheep purchased from the nomads who live in the desert.

Dinner is a party every night!
8 p.m.
After dinner everyone sits around and chats. Sometimes Mike will pull out his guitar and sing Beatles songs. Sometimes the team members make up silly songs about flash floods, mishaps on the road, and the things they miss from home.

10 p.m.
The Sun sets late here. After stargazing and more talking, everyone goes to sleep.
