Many people know about the American Museum of Natural History. They know it has incredible dinosaurs, and gems, and minerals, and so on. But I don't know how many people are aware that there is an incredible scientific research done here.
Our Seminars on Science online graduate courses really bring all of this and more to teachers across the United States and around the world.
There are so many different courses you could take.
Ocean Systems.
The Link Between Dinosaurs and Birds.
Solar System. Space Time in Motion.
There's videos. There's essays.
Through the Seminars on Science course, you'll have the exposure to a lot of rich resources from great institutions like Howard Hughes Medical Institute and NASA.
An important aspect of Seminars on Science it's this connection to real scientists.
I took the courses to deepen my own understanding of science content. Coming from a history background, I wanted to be more confident in the classroom with my students.
They are co-taught between an experienced educator and then of course scientists.
I have lots of comments all the time about how much people have enjoyed our courses and how much they're so eager to be able to transmit that enthusiasm to their students.
Our discussions are structured in a way where you can check in throughout a two week period for each new question.
You are in discussion with your peers, who are teachers from across the country.
You can come back when you have time available. If you need to run off to work. If you need to make dinner for your family.
The courses are available for graduate credit from several of our partners.
These are courses that are not only about exciting science at the cutting edge, but also about how you can bring that science into the classroom.
