Lorraine Bertan has been involved in Seminars on Science courses since 2003. The American Museum of Natural History has relied on Lorraine's teaching experience aligning Museum exhibits with the New York State Regents Syllabus. She has been an instructor in Summer Institutes on Learning and Teaching at AMNH in both Earth Science and Biology since 2004. She was the education consultant to the Gold Educator's Guide and the Spitzer Hall of Human Origins Educator's Guide.

Her face-to face teaching experience has been with the Bronx High School of Science and the East Meadow School district where she taught high school biology, chemistry and earth science.

Lorraine received her BA from NYU Washington Square College of Arts and Science, and her MA from NYU School of Education. She is enthusiastic about online teaching, especially courses that allow students to view museum collections and meet with museum curators.

Lorraine lives on Long Island, NY. Her interests and hobbies include music (she attended the Juilliard School of Music), skiing, gardening, cooking and traveling.
