Call for Entries

The Margaret Mead Film & Video Festival takes place at the American Museum of Natural History each November. The Festival showcases far-reaching international documentaries and a range of non-narrative films and videos. The Festival seeks works that showcase the diversity of non-fiction storytelling. Established as the longest-running festival of documentary film, the Mead is a world-renowned exhibitor.

ENTRY DEADLINES:

The 2009 Call for Entries is closed.

ELIGIBILITY:

The Mead Festival considers:
  • Documentary films and videos (including shorts, experimental films, essay films, animation, and new media).
  • Production must be completed within the last three years.
  • Submissions must be in English or with English subtitles/voiceover narration.
  • No resubmissions please.

ENTRY PROCEDURE:

  • Enter your film through Withoutabox.com (WAB). If you submit through WAB do not send a paper entry form and do not email your entry information.
  • Download and complete the Mead Festival Entry Form.
  • Fill out a separate form for each entry.
  • Send email to meadfest (AT) amnh.org with the director's name, film title, email address, and street address upon mailing your submission and entry form. (Not applicable to WAB entrants.)
  • Pay entry fee through WAB, credit card or send a check along with your entry.

ENTRY FEE:

$10-$35 US dollars, pay what you can afford.

  • Make checks payable to American Museum of Natural History
