Discovering the Universe

Students in grades 6-12 use an assortment of telescopes and interactive exhibits to investigate the concepts of light, gravity, and orbits, and are introduced to digital imaging processing and 3-D cosmic modeling. Students have the opportunity to explore astronomy and astrophysics in an engaging, hands-on laboratory. Students will learn that both visible and invisible light take the form of electromagnetic waves of varying lengths, that astonomers gather light using different kinds of telescopes, and that they then use this collected information to create digital images.
