Rose Center Home

Main EntranceEntrance
The direct entrance to the Frederick Phineas & Sandra Priest Rose Center for Earth and Space is on the north side of the Museum on West 81st Street, just west of Central Park West. Access is also available through the Museum from Central Park West at 79th Street.


Hours of Operation

The Museum is open daily, 10:00 a.m.—5:45 p.m.
The Museum is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Space Show Schedule

Monday - Friday: Every half hour, 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. except Wednesdays (first show on Wednesday begins at 11:00 a.m.)
Saturday - Sunday: Every half hour, 10:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Hours are subject to change.

Advance Ticket Reservation
Tickets for the Space Show at the new Hayden Planetarium can be purchased online. To purchase by phone call 212-769-5200, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Admission
Entrance to the Rose Center is included in suggested Museum admission. Suggested Museum admission is as follows:Tickets

Adults:  $19
Children (2-12):  $10.50
Seniors/Students with ID:  $14.50
Adult Members:  Free
Child Members:  Free

Suggested General Admission, which supports the Museum's scientific and educational endeavors, includes admission to all 45 Museum halls and the Rose Center for Earth and Space. Should you wish to pay less than the suggested admission, you may do so by purchasing tickets at any admissions desk at the Museum.

By purchasing tickets online, you agree to pay the full suggested admission plus a service charge per ticket.

Combination tickets, including admission to the Museum, the Rose Center for Earth and Space, and the Hayden Planetarium Space Show, may be purchased as follows:

Adults:  $24.00
Children (2-12):  $14.00
Senior/Student with ID:  $18.00
Member Adult:  $12.00
Member Child:  $7.50

By purchasing tickets online you are agreeing to pay full suggested admission plus a $4.00 per ticket service charge. Should you wish to pay less than the suggested Museum admission and also want to attend a Space Show or IMAX® film, you may do so by purchasing the tickets at any admissions desk at the Museum. Take the amount you wish to pay for general admission and add the appropriate ticket prices: Space Show, IMAX or Special Exhibition - $20.00 Adult, $11.00 Children, $16.50 Senior/Student.

Tickets can be purchased at any Museum entrance.

Audio Tours
Free Audio Tours of the Rose Center are now available with admission.

Group Visits
Group visits may be booked by calling 212-769-5200. Group packages for all Museum exhibitions, including the Rose Center, are available; groups may choose to have a three-course sit-down lunch in the Museum. For information about Group Tours and menus, call 212-313-7011.

School Group Visits

Space MerchandiseShops
The Planetarium Shop, featuring gifts, scientific instruments, and other merchandise relating to space themes, is located on the lower level of the Rose Center. The Cosmic Shop, designed for children and located on the second floor of the Rose Center, features space-related toys and games. The main Museum Shop, located in the Museum near Central Park West, is a spectacular triplex retail space, featuring a variety of merchandise from around the world that reflects the Museum's exhibitions of human cultures, the natural world, and the universe.
