Grab a drink, savor Caribbean bites, dance in the Hall of the Universe, and explore climate action under the Blue Whale!

Keep the spirit of Carnival alive beyond Labor Day weekend at the Museum’s Carnival Climate Fete, where Caribbean culture, climate leadership, and community resilience come together.

Through performances, culinary experiences, interactive programming on extreme weather, and conversations with scientists and community leaders, explore the connections between Caribbean traditions, biodiversity, and climate action. From the growing impact of sargassum on Caribbean coastlines to challenges facing island communities and New York City neighborhoods, the festival will examine how climate change is reshaping communities and inspire collective action toward a more sustainable future.

During the event, guests will have the opportunity to:

  • Dance along to the latest dancehall, reggae, and soca beats spun by Hot 97’s DJ Young Chow
  • Vibe out to electrifying Afro-Latin hits by DJ Bembona
  • Attend Lightning Lectures under the Blue Whale from Caribbeans for Climate, highlighting critical climate issues
  • Connect with culture keepers and community storytellers preserving and sharing Caribbean traditions
  • Browse a pop-up marketplace featuring local makers—and more!
