The Spring Lunch is an annual celebration of the Museum’s leadership in environmental research, conservation, and education.

The Spring Lunch: Science, Society, and Our Environment was held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Arctic Transformations: Resilience, Partnership, and Lessons from a Warming World

The Arctic is warming at nearly four times the global average, reshaping landscapes, livelihoods, and relationships. In this year’s panel, held on Earth Day and moderated by Museum President Sean M. Decatur, scientists and Indigenous leaders will explore how Arctic communities — from reindeer herders navigating altered pastures to researchers uncovering lessons from deep-time climate change — are building resilience in the face of accelerating disruption. Together, they will examine what the Arctic can teach us about adaptation, partnership, and the choices we face in a rapidly changing world.
