ClimateFest

During Climate Week NYC, join us for ClimateFest, a full-day celebration of science, sustainability, and community! This all-ages event brings the science of climate change and its impact on human health to life through hands-on activities, pop-up presentations, and live demonstrations across the Museum.  

On your visit, you will be able to: 

• Explore the Museum’s Climate Learning Lab, designed for ages 8 and up, to find out more about climate, climate change, and what we can do to address our warming planet. 
• Experience The Garden, an immersive, sensory-friendly outdoor theater performance for children ages five and under and their caregivers.  
• Learn all about the incredible box turtle—where we find them, why they matter, and more. 
• Join wildlife ecologist Rae Wynn-Grant, a visiting scientist at the Museum who’s also featured in the exhibition Black in Natural History Museums, in a reading of her latest picture book, You Belong in the Wild.  
• Color along with MAD magazine’s Peter Kuper as he takes you on an illustrated journey through 400 million years of insect history and the epic migration of the monarch butterfly. 
• Check out Solar One’s solar cart to explore new ways of living that are more adaptive to a climate change-impacted world.  
• Watch inspiring stories of courage, sustainability, and environmental stewardship with Climate Guardians, a puppet show, written and performed by The Culture Tree and WonderSpark Puppets. 
• Stop by the BIPOC Climate Justice Summit for panel conversations and workshops focused on advancing climate justice through collaboration, community leadership, and systems changes.
