Join us for a special in-person Educators’ Evening about the documentary film In Our Nature, which explores how nature-based education can help us reconnect at a time of rising loneliness, political division, and environmental uncertainty.

The evening will begin with a reception and introduction to In Our Nature by the film’s director, James Parker.

Next, enjoy a screening of In Our Nature (60 minutes), which focuses on three powerful stories—from a flower farm on Chicago’s South Side, a forest school in rural Kentucky, and a healing-in-nature program for military families in San Antonio—to reveal how connection to the natural world can bridge divides, strengthen communities, and support youth mental health. Urgent and hopeful, In Our Nature shows why access to nature isn’t a luxury but essential to what it means to be human.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with James Parker,  Quilen Blackwell (2025 CNN Hero of the Year) & Hannah Bonham Blackwell, Co-Founders, Southside Blooms, Jason Stout, Founder, Stoutreach; Youth Programs Advisor, Mary Leou, Founding Director of The Wallerstein Collaborative for Urban Environmental Education & Sustainability, Clinical Professor of Environmental Education and Director of the Environmental Conservation Education (ECE) Graduate Program at New York University, and Museum educator Jay Holmes.

This exclusive event is an opportunity to network with fellow educators and to explore the role nature can play in education, community, and well-being.
