Welcome to Library Fun Finds! An ongoing series where we share some of the fun and unique items we come across in the library and archives collections.

I recently had the task of packing this 100,000+ card catalog into archival storage boxes, you can see some of the drawers have seen better days. The bulk of the card catalog references the Central Archives Collection, or everything the museum did between roughly 1890 and 1975 and the project I have been working on for the last two years.

However, the last row of drawers contained multiple smaller subject indexes that not only needed to be packed and moved but researched into what the heck they are. While I would love to give you an answer, I am still working on that. In the meantime, I thought I would share some of my favorite subject cards I have come across. They might give you a hint as to why I am still investigating.

Unclear if the Department of Health has a complaint to the Museum about a parrot or if the Museum has a complaint to the Department of Health. Maybe the parrot has a complaint?
