Education
Michaela is a graduate from the UCLA/Getty Master's Program in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage (MA '18), and B.A. magna cum laude in Archaeology with a minor in Art History from Tufts University in 2012. She is currently working on treatments of Anthropological and Natural Science cultural heritage materials as well as environmental monitoring of display and storage spaces at the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH). She returned to the Museum after four years as Project Conservator at the Penn Museum working on monumental limestone architectural features for the renovation of the Egypt and Nubia galleries. She previously worked at AMNH on an IMLS funded research project concerning the treatment of feathers as well as treatments for the Northwest Coast Hall renovation.
Research Interests
Michaela is interested in the integration of treatment approaches and materials between conservation specialties and collaborative approaches to conservation with a variety of interested communities. She is also dedicated to volunteering for outreach purposes and the promotion of conservation to professionals in allied fields and the public.
