Research Interests
Sabrina M. Appel is an NSF Astronomy & Astrophysics Postdoctoral Fellow at the American Museum of Natural History. Her research focuses on understanding the role of stellar feedback in star-forming regions using computer simulations and analytical models. In particular, Sabrina's work investigates the impact of protostellar jets — narrow beams of gas produced by newly forming stars. These protostellar jets alter the properties of star-forming gas, as well as the progression of subsequent star formation. Sabrina earned a B.A. in Physics from Reed College in 2017 and a Ph.D. in Physics and Astronomy from Rutgers University in 2024.
