Education

Lisa received her MA in art conservation from the Buffalo State College and since 1994 has been working as a conservator at the AMNH, first as assistant and associate conservator in the Anthropology Department, and since 2001 as Director of Conservation for the natural science collections.

Research Interests

Over the years, Lisa's focus has been on planning strategically for the preservation of scientific collections.  This involves surveying and evaluating risks to collections, planning for collections upgrades, and setting procedures and policies for collections and conservation management.  In 2011, management of the Office of the Registrar was added to her roster in an effort to ensure closer communication and collaboration between the registrars and conservators, to better enforce collection policy, and to provide support to the museum’s ambitious traveling exhibitions program.
