Application Process

Step 1: Check that you are eligible for the MAT program. If you have questions about your eligibility or other inquiries, please contact the MAT ESRP office at [email protected].

Step 2:  Your first step is to create an application account. Be sure to record your username and password so you can access your account throughout the application process.

Step 3: Complete the online application by February 15, 2022. Please make sure all the requirements have been met so that your application can proceed to the next step:

  • Personal, professional, academic information
  • Short answer questions
  • Statement of professional and personal goals
  • Three letters of recommendation*
  • Official transcripts from all universities and professional schools attended*
  • Score report from the GRE General Exam (GRE program code: 7802)*
  • Current resume
  • Signed agreement to seek employment as a teacher in a high-needs public school
  • Application fee of $10 (non-refundable)

*Official deadline for transcripts, letters of recommendation, and unofficial GRE scores is March 1. Deadline for official GRE test scores is March 15.

Step 4: Admissions interviews will be held in February and March for candidates selected for an interview. 

Step 5: Notification of admissions decisions will be sent in March and April. Students in the Class of 2023 will begin the program on June 6, 2022
