In addition to the Cambridge collection, numerous important elements of the Darwin papers are at Down House, Darwin’s home in Kent. Significant collections of Darwin manuscripts are also held by several major institutions and private collectors. The Natural History Museum in London and the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia both have sizeable Darwin scientific manuscript collections. Note that a systematic catalogue of all the Down House Darwin documents, both Personal Manuscripts and Scientific Manuscripts is provided here, and was prepared by DMP in collaboration with Down House (English Heritage).
