Amir Yassin

Post-doctoral Researcher

Research Interests

Amir studied biology (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at the University of Alexandria (Egypt) and obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Paris South. His research has focuses on the ecological genetics and systematics of the invasive drosophilid Zaprionus indicus in Egypt. During his post- doctoral training at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris with Michel Veuille he investigated the molecular phylogenetics of South American orthopterans. At AMNH Amir focuses on phylogenetics of endemic Drosophila species from Madagascar and gene-tree incongruence in insects.
