Dr. Ari Grinspan Mount Sinai Health System

Speaker: Ari Grinspan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Director of GI Microbial Therapeutics at Mount Sinai

Did you know you have a team of microscopic creatures helping you digest? When you eat, you never eat alone thanks to your gut flora! Gut flora play a significant role in your health, and doctors and scientists are just beginning to understand how our bodies and the microbes in our intestines help each other. Gastroenterologist Ari Grinspan talks about how to keep a healthy gut, and how we can use the power of poop to cure disease!

This is a chance to socialize, eat snacks, and hang out with scientists and other curious kids!

Audience:

Open to all 10–13-year-olds accompanied by a guardian.

(Students 14 and over should RSVP for our monthly Teen SciCafe events.)
