Stainless steel freezers cooled with liquid nitrogen housing the Ambrose Monell Cryo Collection
The Ambrose Monell Cryo Collection is housed in stainless steel liquid nitrogen freezers

The mission of the Ambrose Monell Cryo Collection (AMCC) is to provide an accessible repository of frozen tissue specimens, collected and maintained under rigorously controlled conditions. In a time of massive species loss, such efforts are essential in order to preserve as comprehensive a record as possible of the earth's biodiversity.

The AMCC supports research by providing Tissue Loans, Field Collection Kits, and Dry Shippers to the scientific communities.

The AMCC is proud to partner with the US National Park Service (NPS) as a repository for NPS tissue samples of organisms listed under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Samples within the specially designated National Park Service Collection can be found here.
**Please note that the samples are on loan from NPS to AMNH/AMCC in accordance with AMNH/NPS agreement**
