Unlike other scientific disciplines, the “fieldwork” for astronomers is conducted in unreachable locations. Stars, old halo streams, exotic neutron stars, black holes, and even solar system objects are all at unfathomable distances from Earth.
In this special Astronomy Live presentation, Museum Senior Scientist Jackie Faherty will take us on a journey to explore star-forming regions Orion, young clusters including the Pleiades, streams of old stars arcing over the disk of the galaxy, and much more. This showcase will be utilizing OpenSpace visualization technology, revealing how dynamic the universe truly is.
