Sunday, March 10: Ocean Eats
Explore the relationship between humans and the oceans, from cultural traditions and fishing practices to sustainable seafood, and learn how to be a steward of Earth’s seas. Join host Mark Siddall, scientist Eleanor Sterling, chef Chris Young, and author Mark Kurlansky with his daughter Talia Kurlansky as they discuss the challenges of sustainable practices. Sunday, April 14—Monday, May 13: Special Presentation of Reefs Illuminated
In this new film, shown in the Geodome theater in the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, Museum scientists John Sparks and David Gruber take a journey to the remote South Pacific coral reefs of the Solomon Islands to explore biofluorescent species of fishes and stingrays along with biofluorescent corals, crinoids, anemones, and other glowing invertebrates.
