From June 14 to June 22, the Museum is an early voting site for certain electoral districts in Manhattan. Find your early voting site at the NYC Board of Elections.
The Department has at its disposal a state-of-the-art optics lab which has produced four cutting-edge astronomical instruments used at Palomar Observatory, the Gemini Observatory and, previously, the AEOS facility in Maui.
Simulations are performed on the Museum's parallel computing facility, NSF XSEDE, and NASA High-End Computing systems.
The Department is also a partner in the South Africa Large Telescope and uses optical, radio, infrared, ultraviolet, and X-ray observatories both worldwide and in space.
