Dendrobates auratus

D. auratus is diurnal (active during the day), brightly colored, and occurs in several color forms called morphs, the most common of which is green and black. The skin is iridescent or metallic in appearance. Like all Dendrobates, D. auratus are dwindling in the wild to to over collection and habitat destruction.
Size: 1 to 2 inches
Range: Nicaragua to Colombia
Habitat: Rain forests and plantations
