To quickly check our collection holdings for taxa or country/state, the public interface to our collections database may be used. This interface returns locality data only to the level of county. Requests for more detailed specimen data require a hard-copy letter on institutional letterhead, although initial inquiries by email ([email protected]) are encouraged. Requests from students must be co-signed by the major professor or other permanent staff member. Requests (approximately one page in length) should include a description of the proposed research, including detail on how specimen data will be used.
Specimen data should not be transferred to other institutional databases or used for purposes other than the proposed research project without permission.
