Professional Interests

Dr. Chavez-Reilly is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Urban Advantage Program. His research focuses on how out-of-school and in school learning influence the academic and career trajectories of youth. He is currently studying the role of science investigations in the professional development of Urban Advantage teachers and the academic development of Urban Advantage students. He has served as an educator at the middle school, high school, community college, and four-year college levels. In 2014, he received his PhD in Sociology of Education from NYU. He has extensive training in both quantitative and qualitative methods.
