The Futter Gallery is a gateway to the Museum’s Anne and Bernard Spitzer Hall of Human Origins, the Northwest Coast Hall, the Sensory Room, and the Discovery Room.
In 2026, the Futter Gallery is home to the Global Sports Pavilion, part of the Museum’s World Cup, World Cultures series of exhibitions and programs.
Featuring large-scale photography and video celebrating iconic moments in sports from around the world, the Global Sports Pavilion features facilitated activities where visitors can test how different materials affect a ball’s motion, explore the geometric design of soccer balls, and map their own connections to the global game and the communities that shape it.
Hours: From May 28 through June 1, hands-on activities will be available Thursday–Sunday, 1–5 pm. Beginning July 1, activities will be available daily, 1–5 pm.
The Global Sports Pavilion will be one of several locations around the Museum where fans can watch matches starting Thursday, June 11.
Watch parties are free with any Museum admission. The Museum—including all exhibitions and shows—will be open for extended hours on days with late matches.
Check the watch party list for more details.
Pick up a free NYC Neighborhood Passport at any public library, and take part in a citywide stamp scavenger hunt tied to the FIFA World Cup! Explore the five boroughs and cultural institutions, and collect stamps along the way. The Museum is stamping passports in the Global Sports Pavilion from June 11–July 19.
