From June 14 to June 22, the Museum is an early voting site for certain electoral districts in Manhattan. Find your early voting site at the NYC Board of Elections.
Since 1990, Museum scientists have traveled to Mongolia to find fossils, continuing a tradition of Museum expeditions to the area since the 1920s. In 2017, a team led by Provost of Science Mike Novacek and Paleontology Division Chair Mark Norell headed to the Gobi Desert. The group included graduate student Aki Watanabe, who as a beta-tester for Google Glass recorded a paleontologist's-eye view of a fossil excavation.
Watch as Watanabe goes from spotting bone fragments to extracting whole (and huge) fossil bones.
