Dr. Brian Smith is an assistant curator of ornithology in the Division of Vertebrate Zoology at the American Museum of Natural History. His research focuses on the evolution of birds, and particularly on resolving the avian tree of life. Dr. Smith approaches this task by combining the results of genomic, biogeographic, and specimen-based research techniques.
