Teacher volunteer and student looking at touchable petrified wood at the Hall of Planet Earth on Earth Day

The Gottesman Center for Science Teaching and Learning is excited to offer a series of free, hands-on events for school groups of all ages on a variety of topics. Make the most of your field trip by participating in these events, which will allow students the opportunity to engage in hands-on investigations, specimen and artifact observations, and much more while exploring the Museum's world-renowned scientific and cultural collections and exhibition halls.

While you must pre-register your group in order to visit the museum, no reservations for the special day's activities are accepted; all offerings are first-come, first serve.

Free admission for New York City school and camp groups to the American Museum of Natural History is generously supported by the Richard and Karen LeFrak Exhibition and Education Fund.
