Resources For Educators: Mummies

In this exhibition, you and your students will come face to face with real mummies, remains of humans and other animals that have been preserved for thousands of years. You’ll encounter mummies from the ancient cultures of Peru and Egypt.

Use the educator's guide and related resources to investigate two main themes of the exhibition: (1) people and cultures—what mummies reveal about families, social status, and community; and (2) technology—ancient methods of mummification and modern techniques of studying mummies.
