Activities 

Grades K–5

In the Hall of Saurischian Dinosaurs and the Hall of Ornithischian Dinosaurs, students observe a natural phenomenon—that dinosaur fossils have different kinds of specialized body parts—to investigate how dinosaurs used their body parts to help them get food, defend themselves, or get attention.

Grades 3–5

SPECIMEN OBSERVATON

Use this activity with any specimen in the Museum.

Grades 6–12

In the Hall of Vertebrate Origins, students observe a natural phenomenon—that all vertebrates have a backbone and additional shared traits such as jaws, four limbs, and watertight eggs—to investigate the traits that vertebrates have in common.
