From paid teen internships to hands-on science courses and research opportunities, there are many ways for NYC high school students to join our Museum community.

We are a global museum in one of the most diverse cities in the world, and we are committed to building an inclusive youth community that reflects that diversity. We believe in addressing the barriers that prevent everyone from equally participating in science, particularly on the basis of race, gender, or sexual orientation.

We invite high school students across our five boroughs to experience science in a way that is creative, social, and relevant. Our programming is free. Our internships are paid. Join our community and explore human cultures, the natural world, and the universe at the Museum.

Courses and Internships

  Science Alliance High School Program Are you a high school kid interested in science? Experience hands-on investigation in this exciting enrichment program. Article Science Research Mentoring Program Offers college students an internship opportunity to learn about science communication and science learning for diverse groups. Article Grand Ronde Learning Exchange This collaborative program with the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde invites Grand Ronde youth to NYC each June.  Article Science Communication Internship Program The Science Communication Internship Program (SCIP) is a paid internship for New York City’s high school students at AMNH.
